Fair Lending School 2.0

Module 11: Marketing

Your organization’s marketing efforts is really where fair lending starts. The message your organization puts out to potential loan applicants is often the first contact you may have with a potential customer. We decided to put it at the end of the loan lifecycle because we wanted to introduce you to all of the fair lending risks so you can have a holistic view of your fair lending program. This will help you in your marketing review to be able to identify risks in all of the areas we have covered.

Marketing is a key part of your fair lending program. Make sure you pay close attention to the example organizations in the manual and ensure you spend time reviewing this critical area. If you do mass media marketing or social media and make a mistake, it will be broadcast all over the world with no way to take it back.
